21. Biting Through, Line 3

“Bites on old dried meat.”

The matter of contention is an old one. An attempt to ‘punish’ the other party will just increase the conflict. Spit out this ‘old dried meat’ and move on.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………

What is your ‘old dried meat’? Most often, it is a relationship that was once healthy and nourishing. When it goes bad, for whatever reason, we often spend a great deal of our psychological energy trying to ‘get back at’ the former loved one.

The Book of Changes says: There’s nothing of value for you in this relationship any more. You are just chewing endlessly on the past.

Spit this relationship out and move on.

………………

SL: Picturing your ex as a piece of jerky can be a lot of fun. I could see making this a ceremony for Girl’s Night Out. Your ex = jerk-y — coincidence? or synchronicity?

………………………………..

Tomorrow: Line 6: “Her ears disappear.”
