46. Pushing Upward

Now is the time to focus on small — but steady — efforts. You must “heap up small things to achieve something great.

R. L. Wing calls this hexagram Advancement. It’s a reminder that success frequently requires more time and more effort than we want it to.

The Book of Changes says: What you want to achieve requires small, regular steps. If you do proceed in this manner, you will have “supreme success.”

Example: You have posted a new blog, and you have visions of it going viral, bringing you worldwide fame and fortune. This hexagram tells you to ‘get real.’ Only slow and steady effort will win this race for you.
