4. Youthful Folly

“At the first oracle I inform her . . . “

You wish to enter a situation that is completely new to you. Admit your lack of knowledge and experience. Find a teacher and follow her advice.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Many interpretations of the I Ching call this one Inexperience. “Folly” means to us something ridiculous or absurd, but taken as a whole, that’s not what the Yi is talking about here.

The Book of Changes says: What new situation do you want to enter? Don’t just jump in. You will need a teacher or a guide to be successful.

The Yi sent two changing lines, Lines 1 and 4.

………………..

Tomorrow: Line 1. “Restraints should be removed.”
