34. Great Power, Line 1

“Power in the toes; continuing brings misfortune.”

The “lowest” part of your nature — your ego — is trying to advance, but the rest of you is not ready. Get back in balance before trying to move forward.

Great Power needs to be wielded in an even-handed manner. This is “energy in harmony with the movement of heaven.” When you discover this strength within you, don’t rush ahead.

The Book of Changes says: You may trip over your own toes trying to exercise your Great Power too soon. Wait until you are completely balanced before you take your first step.

We have three more changing lines of sage advice with this one. Get ready for a struggle.
