9. Taming Power of the Small, Line 1

“Return to the way.”

You want to push your way through to what you want. Force is not the answer. Return to the path of balance.

“The journey of a thousand miles starts from beneath your feet.” Tao te Ching, Chap. 64

Often translated as “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step,” this most famous of ancient Chinese sayings is aimed right at you today.

Today’s changing line says: You have left your path, trying to speed up getting to your ultimate destination. It won’t work. You need to take your next steps getting back on the path of the Tao. Letting things develop naturally is the only way.

Where have you “stepped off the path?”

The Book of Changes sent one more changing line to guide us.

Tomorrow: Changing Line 3: “The spokes burst out of the wagon wheels. Man and wife roll their eyes.”

Side Note: China itself has given us the best possible example of this message in the infamous Great Leap Forward (1958 to 1962. )

“The Great Leap resulted in tens of millions of deaths, with estimates ranging between 15 and 55¬†million deaths, making the Great Chinese Famine the largest famine in human history.” Wikipedia
