56. The Wanderer, Line 4

“She obtains property and an axe. My heart is not glad.”

Accumulation of “things” will not make you happy. It will only make you worry more about keeping them.

In our main message, the Book of Changes advised “You will be moving on.” Changing Line 2 reassured you that you have everything you need inside you to prosper, wherever you might go.

With Line 4, the Yi waves a red flag: Things are going well for you, where you are right now. Be warned: Don’t tie yourself down with “stuff,” and especially, don’t buy real property. This is not where you are meant to be, long-term.

And for heaven’s sake, put down that axe!

The future is going to take some work on your part, but promises supreme success.
