43. Resolve, Line 5

In dealing with weeds . . .

In dealing with bad habits or negative thoughts, pulling up one “weed,” one time, won’t be enough. You have a row to keep clean in the garden of Life. You must maintain your Resolve and continue removing the weeds, spring to fall.

Resolve here means “firm determination to do something.” This line reminds us: Sticking to a diet for one day is good, but it’s not enough. You’ve got to keep at it for it to benefit you long-term.
